Guest Speaker

6.30pm - Dhaniel Croft
Melbourne Water
The presentation will go for 30min

Please join us to hear and engage with Dhaniel Croft from Melbourne Water on providing an overview of the Steels Creek Sub-catchment management plan.

Over the last year, Steels Creek Landcare has initiated a Sub-catchment management plan and has worked closely with community groups and agencies, including Birdlife Australia and Melbourne Water.

We are pleased to announce that Dhaniel Croft from Melbourne Water will be joining us at the upcoming Steels Creek Landcare AGM. Dhaniel will be providing an overview of the Steels Creek Sub-catchment management plan, and we are very fortunate to have his expertise and insights shared with us.

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the latest developments and strategies in managing our sub-catchment. Dhaniel's presentation will cover key aspects of the plan, including current progress, future goals, and the impact on our local environment. It promises to be an informative and engaging session that will outline the plan and opportunities for all members.

Please mark your calendars for the AGM. We look forward to seeing you there and having a productive discussion on how we can continue to work together to protect and enhance our precious Steels Creek environment.

We Need Your Help - Calling for Nominations

🌿 Join Our Landcare Committee – Skills Welcome, Curiosity Encouraged! 🌿
We’re inviting new members to join our Landcare committee—people who want to make a difference in our local environment and community. Whether you bring specific skills or simply want to learn and get involved, your contribution matters.

Skills that benefit the group and the broader community may include:

  • 🌱 Environmental knowledge (planting, pest control, soil care, weeds)
  • 🧠 Strategic thinking (planning, budgeting, grant writing)
  • 🤝 Community engagement (event planning, outreach, media)
  • 🛠️ Practical support (tool use, tech help, project coordination, hobby farming)
  • 🧩 Soft skills (teamwork, mentoring, inclusivity)
No experience required—just a willingness to participate in a voluntary role and help build something meaningful. We’re a friendly, hands-on group that values learning, collaboration, and impact.

We welcome those who are interested in an office bearer role or simply would like to be a general committee member to offer a helping hand when you can. Whether you're a seasoned land steward, spreadsheet wizard or just passionate about making a difference in your local environment, we'd love to hear from you.

General committee isn't an onerous role and can include assisting with: creating the odd newsletter, writing a short report on a Landcare event for the members, web page updates, sourcing information/links on a Landcare topic to include on our web page/email, future events and input at the bi-monthly 1-hour meetings.  Perhaps you have some good knowledge/skill on a topic you can share or a particular passion that may be of interest?   If any of these activities appeal to you, fill in the  Committee Nomination Form.  Online Committee Nomination

Want to talk to someone on the committee first?  Send an email to [email protected] so a committee member can contact you for a chat.
