Steels Creek Estate logo

Steels Creek Estate

Our neighbour up the valley since 1981, when Simon hand-planted the first vines. Every wine is grown, made, matured and bottled on site — the estate calls itself the smallest winery in the Yarra Valley to do the lot. Wild-yeast ferments, no insecticides in the vineyard, and a cellar door looking out to Kinglake.

Alowyn Gardens logo

Alowyn Gardens

Seven acres of garden rooms in Yarra Glen, created by owners Prue and John Van de Linde since 1999. Stroll the 100-metre wisteria and rose archway and the formal parterre, then take home something special from the nursery or stop for coffee in the café. National ABC Gardener of the Year in 2008.

Stag Lane Distillery logo

Stag Lane Distillery

Home of Mary Monica Gin, crafted by a local family on their regenerative citrus farm in Yarra Glen. Home-grown limes and botanicals are picked at their peak, and seasonal batches only return when the trees fruit again. A 2024 gold medal winner, with a cellar door, bar and café overlooking the valley.

Join the Committee

Skills welcome, curiosity encouraged

We’re inviting members to join the Landcare committee: people who want to make a difference to our local environment and community. Whether you bring particular skills or simply want to learn and get involved, your contribution matters.

Wanted: Vice President

Every position is declared vacant at each AGM, but this year the Vice President role is genuinely open, with no one re-standing. The Vice President supports the President and steps in to chair meetings when needed. If you’d be interested, or know someone who would, please nominate or get in touch for a chat about what’s involved. Interested in a different role? Nominations for every position are just as welcome.

Environmental knowledge
Strategic thinking
Community engagement
Practical support
People skills
Or just enthusiasm to help out

No experience required, just a willingness to take on a voluntary role and help build something worthwhile. We’re a friendly, hands-on group that values learning, collaboration and getting things done.

Interested, or want to know what’s involved? Email [email protected].
