Collaborative efforts making a lasting impact on our local environment

Revegetation

Riparian Zone Restoration

Coordinated planting of 5,000 native trees and shrubs along waterways across 12 properties to improve water quality and habitat.

When: 2024-2025 | Properties: 12 | Plants: 5,000+

Wildlife

Nest Box Program

Installed 80 nest boxes for threatened species including Powerful Owls, Sugar Gliders, and native bees across the catchment.

When: 2023-2024 | Boxes: 80 | Species: 5+

Weed Control

Blackberry Blitz

Community-wide effort targeting invasive blackberries through coordinated spraying and follow-up over multiple seasons.

When: Ongoing | Properties: 20+ | Area: 50+ hectares

Water Management

Creek Health Monitoring

Regular water quality testing and biodiversity surveys to track the health of Steels Creek and inform conservation actions.

When: Quarterly | Sites: 8 | Participants: 15+

Education

Native Plant Nursery

Community nursery producing indigenous seedlings for local revegetation projects, with regular working bees and propagation workshops.

When: Year-round | Seedlings/year: 3,000+ | Species: 30+

Fire Management

Fuel Reduction Partnership

Coordinated fuel reduction and fire breaks across neighboring properties to reduce bushfire risk while protecting native vegetation.

When: Annual | Properties: 18 | Area: 200+ hectares
